Description
Ils sont au sein des villes la concrétisation de la volonté des urbains de se rapprocher d’une certaine recherche de nature. S’établissant sur d’anciennes surfaces désaffectées; remparts, glacis, etc., ou héritage des grandes propriétés bourgeoises récupéré par les services publics et ouvert aux citoyens, ils prennent différentes formes, aussi bien dans leur style, taille, qu’utilisation.
Contexte urbain
Réelles surfaces de respiration au coeur des villes, les parcs et les jardins publics sont utilisés par l’ensemble de la population. Ils sont le lieu de toutes les activités de loisir des urbains. Ces surfaces souvent sur-utilisées ne permettent peu ou pas d’accueillir d’autres activités annexes.
Composante environnementale
Historiquement créés comme jardins privés ou mis en place selon des principes de collection d’espèces végétales, les parcs publics sont souvent d’une diversité botanique très riche. De plus, leur rôle de poumon sert d’abris à une grande partie de la faune urbaine.
Possibilités
Visibilité du lieu, impact sur la population.
Entretien facilité (matériel sur place).
Peu de détérioration.
Qualité de la terre de culture.
Surface d’expérimentation, d’exemple pour la ville.
Contraintes
Mise en place difficile (autorisation, etc.).
Installation professionnelle quasi impossible.
Ensemble des surfaces déjà utilisées.
