A competition sponsored by GOOD Magazine to reinvent the farmer’s market prompted Mia Lehrer+Associates to propose a truck that deliveries fresh produce directly to communities, a la an ice cream truck.
Farm on Wheels is a bit of a misnomer as no food is actually grown. Rather, the project addresses the spatial issues associated with the distribution of urban food by devising a modular distribution unit (a truck) that brings produce into neighborhoods where fresh food is scarce.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The project proposes that local produce can be distributed through a new infrastructural network, weaving throughout the city. The “Ice Cream” truck delivers on a daily basis enriching the link between the farmer and consumer. The truck of farm produce acts as a catalysts for equality, social interaction, and education of urban agriculture.
